Fitness and Injury Prevention for Fly Fishing

Frank Nardomarino has been presenting his Fitness & Injury Prevention for Fly-Fishing seminar for a few years now. He graduated from the UIC with a degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Training and has graduate experience in Sports Injury Management and Biomechanics. As Baseball Trainer with the UIC Flames, Frank headed the team’s strength and conditioning program as well as injury management and rehabilitation program. In 1996, Frank worked with the Chicago White Sox as an intern in the Sports Medicine office.

Currently, Frank is working as a full-time Paramedic with the Highland Park Fire Department and has been part of the Dive Rescue and Recovery Team, CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor, and a member of the Wellness and Fitness Committee.

Frank decided to combine this with his passion for fly-fishing. After Fly Fishing Guide School in Colorado, he decided to start a ground-breaking program on the injuries and situations that arise while fly-fishing. Topics covered include: Hook Injuries, Sprains, Strains, Broken Bones, Heat Stroke, Hypothermia, Near-Drowning, Poison Ivy, Chronic Stress Injuries, and Basic First Aid. There is an eye-opening PowerPoint presentation and hands-on training. The topic is sure to open your eyes to what can happen out there!

Please RSVP to Kent Carlson at kentrcarlson@sbcglobal.net or (312) 663-9601 or by signing up for the meeting on the website calendar.
