Dave Dapprich
DAVE DAPPRICH, a gentlemanly fly fishing friend of many and Lee Wulff Chapter President, died on Tuesday, December 6. He succumbed to pancreatic cancer.
Dave inspired members of the Chicago and surrounding TU chapters with his fly tying, fishing and presence in the Lee Wulff chapter. A civil engineer by profession, Dave was a dedicated fly fisher, bamboo rod builder, and traveler. Though he disliked public speaking, he loved demonstrating rod building or showing pictures of his trips to Chile and elsewhere, but was most at home on the rivers and streams of the Driftless Area of southwest Wisconsin. Dave will be missed at LWTU and in all places where gentlemen are in short supply.
Some of his friends and fishing colleagues have suggested that Dave would appreciate memorial donations to the TUDARE effort. If you would like to contribute in Dave’s memory send a check made out to Trout Unlimited to Laura Hewitt at the TU-Midwest Office (222 S. Hamilton St., Madison, WI 53703) with a note on the check that it is for the Dave Dapprich TUDARE Memorial.
