Spring Creek Trip

The trip will take place Friday, April 23th and conclude Sunday, April 25th. We will be staying at the Old Towne Motel - Hwy. 14, 61, & 27 South Westby, WI 54667. (608) 634-2111 / (800) 605-0276. Amenities include: FREE Continental Breakfast FREE Coffee 24 hours a day Wireless Internet Service Cable TV's in all rooms Large, well lit work areas in all rooms Large Queen-sized beds in most rooms
All rooms are in Thomas Chmielewski's name and the desk clerk will have your room assignment. If you have a preference as to whom you wish to room with, let him know at 312-520-2539 and he will do his best to accommodate. The price is $125.00 based on double occupancy. Also, if you desire single occupancy, please let him know and he will see if we can accommodate you. Of course, the cost for single occupancy will be higher ($180). All plans for meals and lodging must be made by April 20th any un-booked rooms are released.

Sunday Afternoon: - Check Out is 3pm
DIRECTIONS: From Chicago take the Kennedy (I-90/94) to the Northwest Tollway (I-90) thru Madison to Rockford to Madison, WI. At Madison, exit 12/14/18 West (exit is from the left lane). Proceed West. After several miles there will be an exit on the right for US 18/151, stay to the left on the exit ramp. At the light at the bottom of the exit ramp make a left to get on US 18/151. Proceed West towards Dodgeville. Be careful to stay on US 18 when US 18/151 splits. Stay on US 18 until you get to Fennimore. DO NOT SPEED IN FENNIMORE. Take 61 north 45 minutes,go through the town of Viroqua, hotel will be on the East side of road.
GEAR & GUIDES As far as gear, a 3-5 wt. rod will work just fine. WF or DT floating lines in muted colors are preferred. Use long 5x-7x tippets (a 4 is not too long). Hip waders are fine in most places, but there are places where chest waders are the safe bet.
Fly suggestions: Nymphs (with and without bead heads) 14-18 Pheasant Tails, Hares Ear, Prince, Green Caddis, Lightening Bugs, red serendipity and olive and gray scuds. Dries 16-20 Tan and Black Elk Hair Caddis, Adams, Blue Wing Olives, Hendricksons, 18-22 Griffiths Gnats and assorted midges. Streamers 4-14 Black, Brown and Olive Woolly Buggers, Zoo Cougars. Crayfish patterns.
