Work Days

Conservation and Stream Restoration

To support the mission and vision of Trout Unlimited, our chapter regularly participates in stream workdays and restorations. This is a fantastic way for EDTU members to make a difference and learn about the most pressing issues facing our streams and waters. Almost all of our chapter trips include a workday component to help us restore and protect the waters we fish.

In 2023, our direct participation in service projects and stream restorations included:

  • Sand Counties, Wisconsin: Engaging in service projects and stream restorations.

  • Northern Michigan: Contributing to the conservation of the Au Sable and Upper Manistee rivers.

  • Driftless Region, Iowa: Active involvement in stream restoration efforts.

  • Chicago River: Participation in various river cleanups.

In addition to our active participation in service projects, we supported numerous others through financial contributions. In 2023 we donated $10,000 to the TU Driftless Area Restoration Effort to support restoration projects on the West fork of the Kickapoo River.

To get involved with conservation and participate in work days with EDTU, check out the upcoming conservation events on our Conservation Opportunities page. In addition, consider joining us on our signature work trip in the sand counties of Wisconsin.
